The Leopard Sleeve Coat

My boyfriend calls this my "hooker coat", but personally it is one of my favorite finds that i got for an awesome deal. A mark down, Christmas discount, and a couple gift cards later... I left Banana Republic with this amazing coat for just about $20 (originally about $120). It's a fun and playful twist on the classic trench coat, with a leopard print that isn't trashy or cheesy. I think it is extremely chic and sophisticated without being too serious and boring. Here I kept the rest of my outfit simple, as I wanted the focus to be on the coat; leopard can easily be overwhelming and you never want to look too "busy". Light-wash distressed skinny jeans from The Gap paired with white basics like my top, Michael Kors Selma bag and Jeffrey Campbell strap sandals are the perfect way to compliment this coat. Just a few finishing touches of a rose gold Marc by Marc Jacobs watch and gemstone ring and you are looking very put together, but not overdone.

I shot this look in North Dakota in the perfect setting I had in mind. After it's been so warm here in LA, I was not going to let up the opportunity to shoot this coat while I was in colder weather. Other than that, going up to Fargo was a much needed and beautiful escape from the busy, crowded, and hot city. I don't know about you guys, but I think there's something beautiful about dead trees after winter.
