Sleeveless Trench & Boyfriend Jeans
Okay so I've been loving the soft trench look, and have been wanting one of my own for a while. Unfortunately the cheapest one I could find was $100 and that was not happening. Until I found this amazing sleeveless one at LOT 2029 in Fargo, ND for $65. (Sorry my Cali girls! although maybe they'll ship it to you if you call because it's not on their website either -- however, I found one at H&M that is amaze, and is even cheaper, check it out below) I saw it in the window display when we walked up to the store and I was like "I'm getting that for sure. No question about it." I tried it on and it was a done deal. I haven't tried it out yet, but I think I might be able to close up the front and wear it as a dress... Stay tuned because I will for sure post if I'm successful.
I thought it would be my only find of the day until I saw these completely ripped up boyfriend jeans. I've been wanting a pair of boyfriend jeans too, but always thought that they'd be cute in theory but not that flattering on. I tried these on though, and realized nope, they could be super cute. I like this pair because they are not too baggy, they are a little loose, but still flatter the leg well. Paired with a nude strappy heel, you wouldn't have to worry about making your legs look short and stumpy. I paired them with beaded flat sandals the other day too, and they were so cute.
I think that these two trendy pieces paired together make for a very "cool", laid back but still chic look. It doesn't look like you're trying to hard, but you still look completely put together and stylish.
Okay, let me talk about this top. Because I LOVE this top as well. (I'm wearing it in my "A Winter Coat Kind of Day" post, although you can't see it) It is from Banana Republic and it is a sleeveless sweater knit top with a chiffon under layer. I got it on sale for about $30, originally around $80. I like it because it's different, you don't find sleeveless sweaters often, and the under layer adds another dimension and unexpected touch. I think it is a really classic and sophisticated piece that can be dress up or down.
For the overall feel of this look I was going for minimal with more neutral tones. At first I thought about pairing a mint colored bag with it, but I wasn't feeling a pop of color for this look. It looked good, but it didn't quite complete it the way this fun PARIS perfume bottle bag did. It's fun and unique, but still classy in the white, gold, and black colors. I got it from this jewelry/accessory boutique at the Cal Mart. (If you're ever interested in checking it out - which I suggest you do because it has EVERYTHING a girl could dream of for cheap - it is on the first floor by the sushi restaurant lol) Although they did have it in a ton of different colors and patterns and I was tempted to get a couple... Layers of delicate gold rings and bracelets added just the subtle touch of glam that this look needed. Lately I've been pushing my basic gold bangles up my forearm so they're kind of a cuff which I think is much more modern and fresh.
In regards to other ways to style this trench... I could see it with some cut off jean shorts and a band tee with booties or cool sneakers. I could also see it paired with a simple body fitting dress in another neutral color and some fab strappy sandal heels. OR either of these looks would also look great with this seasons knee high wrap up gladiator sandals.
